The role and key responsibilities
In the role of Category Manager & Team Leader, you will lead a Nordic Fleet team of six colleagues located across Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The team is responsible for NCC’s company-wide fleet of several thousand vehicles, including both service vehicles and company cars. The role combines day-to-day leadership - supporting the team, setting priorities and coordinating operational activities - with the strategic responsibility to develop Fleet into a more integrated Nordic function.
You work closely with the business and lead category strategies according to NCC’s strategic direction. You will be a central partner in the organization and collaborate with internal teams as well as external suppliers to ensure an efficient, high-quality, and sustainable supplier base.
An important part of the role is to lead the ongoing transformation of Fleet. This includes developing common Nordic ways of working, processes and governance, as well as taking responsibility for supplier agreements, policies and the strategic direction of the category. You will create structure for the team, support colleagues in their work and ensure that priorities and improvement initiatives are translated into execution.
A key part of the role is to act as a change leader across the organization. You will drive transformation, implement new ways of working, and ensure adoption of category strategies in a complex, matrix-based environment. Success in the role requires the ability to set direction, create engagement and bring both the team and key stakeholders with you through change.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies that support NCC’s business and long-term goals.
- Lead the Nordic Fleet team, including day-to-day support, prioritization and coordination of the team’s work.
- Develop the team and drive the transition towards common Nordic processes, responsibilities and ways of working.
- Own and develop relevant Nordic supplier agreements, policies and governance within the category.
- Build and develop strong supplier relationships through Supplier Relationship Management.
- Analyze market trends, conduct risk assessments, and provide insights and recommendations.
- Ensure the use of category strategies and framework agreements across the organization.
- Follow up on KPIs.
- Maintain Group-level routines for inventory and asset visibility and follow-up across NCC.

Your experience and background

You have strong leadership skills and experience of leading people, teams or cross-functional work in a changing environment.
You are analytical and communicative, with experience in navigating complex environments. With a solid background in category management, procurement, and developing competitive supply chains – supported by an academic degree in engineering, business, economics, or a related field – you lead confidently in matrix organizations and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Experience from Fleet management, vehicle-related categories or other asset-intensive operations is an advantage.
Your strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, risk management, finance, and contract management enables you to make informed, data-driven decisions. You communicate fluently in English and a Nordic language. As a person, you build strong relationships, thrive in teamwork, and work in a structured and focused way.
